911 Center Crippled by a Lightning Strike

Irontontribune.com reported that a lightning strike on Thursday June 23rd, significantly damaged the Lawrence count's 911 center. All emergency calls were immediately transferred to Gallia County operation. The 911 dispatch system, the alarm system and radios were reported damaged amounting to financial losses much more than $15,000.00. AT&T representatives and maintenance personnel expect to take several weeks before 100% operation strength can be regained.
